March 20, 2025…

Join us this month for an afternoon tea of madness! We hope to see you there…

February 13, 2025 -
Edgar Allen Poe & “Little Women” Tea

Falling just before Valentine’s Day, February’s Tea Talk was spent with seven of Poe’s poems dedicated to named women: Frances, Lenore, Eulalie, Isadore, Helen, Elizabeth, and Annabel Lee. Over tea, we discussed the subject matter and impact of Poe’s romances (and tragedies), analyzed his acrostic “A Valentine,” and invented some acrostics dedicated to our own loves!

December 5, 2024 -
Gingerbread Man Folktale & “Gingerbread” Tea

In celebration of winter holidays, we gathered over the tea topic of gingerbread’s long and mysterious history. While indulging in the seasonal spice-bread itself, students and faculty debunked gingerbread myths, read the first published “The Gingerbread Boy” tale (1875), and shared the versions that have been
passed down to them!

October 31, 2024 -
Agatha Christie & “Hallowe’en Party” Tea

For the kickoff of Tea Talk, we spent some time getting to know each other on the spookiest eve of all. Once introductions were out of the way, we got to know each other even better through talking over an excerpt from Hallowe’en Party and sipping on a tea of the same name!
